i can't believe you lent jess the fishing rod!!! how did you carry it from your house??? omg!!!
tomorrow at lunch i got someone to make fun of already! lol
ok enough of that. yh must be wishing she hadn't lent it to jess if she knew what's in store for her. :)
anyway, met my client today, along with my colleague. their office is only along shenton way, just two roads from international plaza. this client is very different from my previous, neh, the one on internet security. i know why they're so different, because ladies do business different from guys lah.
allow me to elaborate.
see, the previous client didn't really discussed what went on with the project, so all of the team members had a different idea of the circumstances. this increased the confusion ten-fold, and not only that, it made me look bad if i did or wrote something the previous liaison liked, but the current one didn't. it's difficult to explain, but just remember that when people in the same company are doing the same project together but not having the identical outlook, it will spell disaster for you. that is also how men go about discussing business.
women, on the other hand, are much better. you may disagree with me but i've had three female clients and they were very nice; i've had one male client and i felt like strangling him. what other conclusions could i have arrived at?
ok, i had a meeting/discussion/briefing with one female client (let's call her jamie), and that female client is part of a larger team, just that her team members were unable to attend the meeting so she was their representative. not confused yet right? good.
so we came to a status quo after that meeting with jamie, and project work went on as what had been planned. then came the next meeting: something to check on what was done, what had to be done, what was to be corrected, etc. this time the meeting was with the entire group.
it went something like this:
male team member: hey let's include this part about the software so that people can understand how it works, this is our USP right? should include.
and i'm thinking, didn't jamie and i agreed not to include this portion already? at the last meeting jamie said this was not what they wanted to concentrate on. how should i go about explaining?
before i could say anything, however, jamie cut in and said exactly what had gone through my mind a minute ago. so i was quite grateful for that. why grateful?
because the exact same thing happened with the previous client and he did nothing about it! what's more, he made me felt like i was trying to pass the buck and be lazy and was trying to get out of doing what he'd requested. that bitch.
that's why i said females are better. hmph.
