darn! when i saw the job opening that i wanted to apply to, i tried applying through JobsDB itself (usually i'll craft the resumeand cover note then send straight to the employer, without going through JobsDB itself) but this time i decided to try through jobsdb. guess what?
You are under-qualified for this job. Although you can still apply for this job, your chances will be very low as you have not met the employer's basic requirements.
Required:
- Junior Executive
- 2 years(s) of experience
what the fcuk! if like that ALL fresh grads are ALWAYS under-qualified for jobs liao la. so not encouraging. hff!
anyway the Group AD talked to me yesterday, as promised some 2 months ago!! he wanted to talk to me about how servicing works and bla bla bla. nothing much, what he said i've already know either through textbooks or through my own observations or through my annoyance to other AEs, asking them.
but he did mention that it's very important to find a good mentor/ teacher. not every BIG advertising firm is good in every department.
*digress abit* damn la! the job opening mentioned above is looking for Accounts cum Admin Exec, i misread and thought Account Executive. then when i saw they wanted someone with finance/ accountancy/ banking background then only i realize! haha but my statement from paragraph 2 still stands!
anyway as i was saying, find a good mentor is important. he said if you want to be in the creative, then this agency (the Malaysia office) is good. but their servicing is not. many people wants to work in here but if you're aiming at servicing, you might want to consider. it's just opinion, i don't mean anything here. so i asked him which agency in Malaysia has the "best" servicing team. and he mentioned our agency. DUH! so much for objectivity!
he also added that the first 2 years are going to be very tough-going. you CANNOT be shy to ask questions. heck, ask even stupid questions. ok, that does not sound hard to me, at least! first 2 years are your foundation years and after the 2 years, you're expect to ask INTELLIGENT questions. hahahaha! and always appear confident, bla bla bla.
ok, he's got some good advice la. so i asked him what are the nasty clients and good clients like, what he looks for in an AE when he first interview the applicant. and all i need to know. he wanted to do it over lunch but heck, i don't know where the lunch is going to be and how much it'll cost me (if he doesn't pay for it, but most prob he would. but you'll never know!) then in the end had it in the conference room, freezing cold as it was raining outside.
alright, these seem redundant but anyway let's enjoy what is left of that ONE week for us, alright? psst, fy, do you have to work on saturday, 16th april? hehehe Have a nice weekend, all!
