the whole company had a WGS briefing today. about the roles and responsibilities of each person and what to anticipate during the event. even though i'll be out of the company before the event starts, i still have to attend the briefing. even the 2 SP interns who are leaving tomoro also have to attend.
hmm.. the whole thing sounds tough and excruciating, yet exciting and fun at the same time. makes me want to go thru the whole experience too. but my boss is not extending us, coz more interns will be coming in next week. but val's boss wants to extend her. she performs well and she has been getting A for her weekly grading. she can really do her work ar, i think she's excellent. able to work under stress and handle tough jobs, not like erm.. someone else. i think she's very responsible and professional. u noe, she brings work home and goes back to company on sundays ar.. just to finish everything on time. obviously the boss will want such a worker.
and this event seems glamourous. the guests are from all over the world and most of them are rich ppl. need to dress up, make up and keep up with appearances. a bit too glamourous for me i think. everyone will be in suit and tie and gowns and all that. i can't imagine myself dressing up like that..
my boss brough us out for lunch today. we were out for two-and-a-half hours, coz he had to drop the WGS cd-rom for production at this company in Ubi. then he has to pick up some server thing at Great World City. and he brought us along. the 3 of us SP interns. we had lunch at this japanese restaurant in Great World City. his treat. i was surprised by his generosity. took a peep when he footed the bill. $100 plus ar. and the 3 of us had ordered the cheapest on the menu..
anyway, he was a senior technical consultant at this company in Great World City. he said first he con them then he insult them. i took a while before realising what he meant..
12 more days to WGS. everyone in the company are busy preparing for it. atmosphere is tensed and ppl are stressed. WGS is on everyone's mind. we walk it, we breathe it, we eat it, we sleep on it, we dream of it.. i left office at 7 plus today. i was the first to leave, everyone else is still busy with work.. the big boss treated everyone to dinner.
p/s: so are we meeting for dinner this fri? but dun eat steamboat ar. can do with hawker, fast food or some not-so-expensive restaurant?
