i can't wait!! today my colleague was asking me amusingly:"why are you smiling away?" i said:"2 more days!" haha, i'm so elated..
left office at 10pm today. was having this dry run for an award presentation during WGS. darryl david is the mc for this event. wow he can speak mandarin just like us, if not better. i'm impressed. anyway this is where all my videos of the nominees are going to be played. a pity i can't be there to witness the actual event. hee, my boss said maybe i should go back and be the clicker for the powerpoint :p
i agree that we can't quite control our emotions. but we can control our actions. let's say, u feel angry when a friend did something to hurt you. anger is a natural emotion that arises when we feel injustice. but you can choose to erupt at that moment, or calm down and have a good talk with her. the first action may cause you to fall out with your fren, the second action most probably will resolve things and strengthen the friendship as well.
you can't choose how you feel, but you can choose what you do.
i think it's the same for love too. you can't help but have feelings for certain people. but it's what you do that makes the difference. i think to start a relationship, a person needs both the heart and the mind. if we follow the heart too much we might just end up hurting others and getting hurt ourselves..
like this fren of mine who already knows that this guy is not the type she wants (character and age factor) but she still went ahead into the relationship coz she likes him. she chose to follow her heart and now she's facing a lot of problems in this relationship trying to work things out.
but i guess it's really difficult to let our minds interfere in the decision-making process. esp with regards to bgr. and ppl just want to take the easy way out most of the time. enjoy the sweetness first, with no regards to the bitterness that awaits them..
and i agree with sy too :"if he can develop feelings for you despite being married, who can guarantee he wouldn't two-time you?" This is very true indeed.
anyway, this was my supervisor's comments about me:
"Fang Ying is a quiet individual who can be entrusted with any task. She pays great attention to detail and is able to deliver results within the allocated time. However she needs to speak up more."
i hate it when ppl separate my name. in my nric my name is one whole word. Poh Fangying. Why must ppl assume that chinese names are definitely two-characters-separated? it irritates me quite a lot.
erm, we are supposed to write a report on our experience with the company. the german boss wants it. he said we can write anything we feel coz it won't affect our grades. he just wants the truth. the brutal truth. this was the term he used when he spoke to us the last time. anyway, this was what i wrote:
Three months ago, I entered B******** with apprehension because I see myself lacking in computer expertise to operate in an IT department. The fact that I was the only one among my course mates to be posted to B******** added to my fear. On top of that, I was faced with unfamiliar surroundings and a stern manager. The initial period was extremely difficult.
Gradually, I came to realise that my colleagues were jovial and amiable, and my manager was not as harsh as he seemed to be. I got along well with the team and I enjoy working in B********.
I learnt how an IT department works and the crucial role it plays in a company. My computer knowledge increased and I became more aware of how technology is used to achieve greater efficiency. I gained better understanding of the diversity of the IT scope. At the same time I was exposed to aspects of a real working environment. My experience in the company was a tough yet enriching one.
I feel that vulgarities should not be used on employees no matter how upset the employer is. No doubt a boss will reprimand his worker when the latter fails to perform his job well, but employees are human too, and they deserve the basic respect from fellow mankind.
Truth is hard if it is not softened by love, and love is soft if it is not strengthened by the truth. A positive working environment motivates workers and an understanding management wins the hearts of employees. I believe fostering employee loyalty will bring the company to greater success.
what do you all think? is it ok for me to give this to the german boss? it's my truest feelings put into the nicest way..
p/s: how come the fonts become so big from sy's "i can foresee" entry backwards? or is it just my computer?
