guess what? the new system administrator (who joined us yesterday) has decided that he doesn't want to stay in the company.

think this morning he went to talk to my boss abt wanting to leave. without looking i just went into his office to get some software CDs. then i realised the 2 of them were in a serious conversation. i turned back and walked out immediately. (the consequence of not knocking before entering..)

after the guy came out, my boss called the other 2 perm staff in. after they came out, the big boss came and spoke to the new guy and my boss. then the GM came and asked to see my boss. just before 1pm, all the department heads had a meeting with the big boss. aiya.. very messy, i also dunno what exactly happened. In conclusion, my boss wanted us to stay behind till he finishes the meeting.

we waited till 2 plus.. that's when he announced that the new (ex?) system admin is leaving us. then he gave a short briefing of what we had to do. i think we are really short-handed, plus the 2 SP interns are leaving next week. he said to them:"u two have done well, though u guys won't be staying for WGS, i hope u all can still do your best in your last week to help us get ready for the event. so far SP interns have never let me down. interns from SP have always performed up to standard compared to the other polys." i was thinking:"did i perform up to his standard?"

anyway, he thanked me for my help, but he'll need me to help them prepare for WGS too, with all the setup and equipment. guess for the next two weeks i'll be doing hands-on stuff. actually it's quite cool to do IT. But only if you can do it well. or else ppl ask you to solve computer problem u cannot solve then die on the spot.. and bosses especially, are not very computer-savvy ppl.. and they are not very patient too.. if i'm not that clueless about technology and computer, i might consider taking up a position like system administrator or something :p

the 2 SP interns are leaving next thursday. then left only me. next monday will have 4 new interns, but not for our department. IT department will have 2 new NP interns coming in the following week. my last week will be their first week..

i can't wait..

p/s: this company treats interns like goods ar. i saw the exchange of their emails, go something like this:"how many interns do you need? i''ll order two more next week.."

and i found out that actually my boss had wanted some IT or multimedia student, but all taken up (as in all attached to other companies already). HR found out that our course still available, so "ordered" me instead. i think the reason my boss accepted me is coz i noe video editing. (i saw the emails exchanged between SP and HR, and also those between HR and my boss) sigh.. interns are just nothing in their eyes..
